Vanna's Story:
Vanna is a 6 year old Siberian Husky who
had a toxic reaction to flea spray. As Vanna's reaction occurred late in the evening, her owner Vito rushed her to Garden
State Emergency Vet where he incurred a large bill attempting to save Vanna's life. Vanna also seemed to have an infected
tooth which was thought to require dental extraction. Vito contacted the Foundation to see if we could help. We were able
to help Vito cover some of Vanna's vet bills. Vanna, through the loving care of Vito and her vets, is on the mend. Vito took
Vanna yesterday for a follow up vet visit and the good news is that she is on the mend from the toxic reaction and she didn't
need dental extraction. It turns out Vanna had an infected gum which is now being treated with antiboitics. We wish Vanna
a speedy recover and thank Vito for helping to save her life!
We were saddened to learn that Vanna succumbed to liver
cancer and crossed the rainbow bridge on November 1, 2007. We were glad that The Phoebe Foundation was able to help Vito
give Vanna a couple of more months with him. Vanna will be missed by all who knew her.
